TDK Corporation announces the introduction of the five-year warranty EVS series of constant current power supplies. Two power levels are offered; a fan cooled 600 W and a convection cooled 300 W. These compact power supplies are suitable for water purification systems or to charge batteries for energy storage.
Operating from a wide-range input of 85 to 265 Vac, the EVS series is available with 18 V (300 W only), 36 V and 57 V outputs for charging 12 V, 24 V and 48 V batteries, including lithium-ion, nickel hydride, and lead acid types. The float voltage and charging current can be user adjusted across a wide range.
The units will operate in ambient temperatures of -20 to +70°C with applicable derating above 45 to 60°C (model dependant). Overall dimensions are 84 x 42 x 180 mm (W x H x D), for the 300 W and 120 x 61 x 190 mm for the 600 W. Options include a cover assembly (standard for the 600 W) and a remote on/off function for both the 300 W and 600 W power levels.
In addition, a 20 A reverse protection module is available to avoid current flowing from the battery back into the power supply. The EVS-RP6020 is rated for operating with voltages of 7 to 60 Vdc and uses a low RDSon FET to minimize the voltage drop to less than 200 mV. This module is available with or without a mounting bracket, measuring 50 x 26 x 77.5 mm and 60 x 32 x 93.5 mm respectively.
All model numbers are safety certified to IEC/EN/UL 60950-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives. The EVS power supplies also comply with EN 55011-B and EN 55022-B emissions (both conducted and radiated) and meet the EN 61000-3-2 harmonics and IEC 61000-4 immunity standards.
